A New YMCA... Building for the Future
The YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth has its eye on the future. The YMCA is a charitable organization and has been part of this community for 156 years. Over that time, The YMCA has engaged thousands of citizens through YMCA values based programs and services.
Today Your YMCA is faced with the need to replace its aging centre on South Park Street. This building is home to YMCA health, fitness and recreation programs and services as well as YMCA childcare. Constructed in 1951, this building has reached the end of its usable life and cannot keep up with the demands for YMCA programs and services.
Your YMCA remains committed to continuing to serve the residents of HRM in the future. In order to fulfill this commitment, we will need to build a new YMCA Centre of Community to replace the South Park YMCA.
